This list will undoubtedly grow as the job evolves.
Career Histroy: Prior to this position I was kayaking on the Clackamas River in the foothills of Mt. Hood killing a particular invasive species. I never thought getting a degree in geology would put me in a camouflaged kayak barreling over rapids and then getting out and hacking through the forest with a machete in one hand and a GPS/Palm in the other. Within this position I gathered a great deal of geologic information about the area and how the fluvial geomorphology was controlling the spread of the plant, and worked on various mapping projects. The position was with the local Regional Government so I wound up working on many of their properties all over the area, running work parties and such. I still work with them on certain projects. I also have been developing a project designed to help people labeled with mental illness access the environment, jobs and community. By piecing together various groups I have been able to move the project along nicely and am looking at various funding sources. Right now I am operating it as a side project to my current service position. It is basically a collection of resources from local universities and colleges, regional governments, mental health agencies, and NPOs, with me leading it. This is a project unique to the area.
