Other Buildings

Additional outbuildings, consistent with the layout and function of early farmsteads in the Red River Valley of northwestern Minnesota and northeastern North Dakota, will be included in the restoration.


 

One of the earliest cabins in this part of the Red River Valley was recently moved back to the Minnesota side of the Red River from Traill County's Frog Point (Belmont) Park. Originally built and used by the Estenson family, the cabin, shown below, was pulled in the All-School parade held in Climax during the summer of 2001. The cabin is now on a foundation at the farmstead restoration site.
