Meeting Minutes
21 November 2002

Members present: J. Vraa, P. Gerla (recording), H. Estenson, T. Evenson, Eunice Evenson, Ervin and Jane Vigness

Minutes from the meeting held on 17 October 2002 approved without changes by the members present.

Treasurer’s report: Dividends paid on saving account ---0.03 and 10.62 on D-savings. Currently on deposit: savings-$10.49, D-savings-$1349.56, checking-$214.07, CD-$15,000. The treasurer received $20 for the Lionel Estenson Memorial. Treasurer’s report was not approved by members present because of a discrepancy from last month. D-saving in October was recorded as having $3241.18. The check to Russ S. may not have been withdrawn from the amount recorded last month.

Old and new business:

(1) Subsoil was graded at the site and 31 loads of manure donated by Morken’s was brought to the site and leveled. His assistance in loading is greatly appreciated. John and Todd’s labor driving is acknowledged and appreciated. Todd’s expenses for fuel will be compensated by the Society.

(2) Barn dismantling began on 20 November. Completion of barn removal may be as soon as Sat., November 23. Some roof rafters need to be replaced. The Society members will check on the availability of sawmills…Todd will check with Russ, John with Johnson’s mill in Crookston, and Vigness’ with a sawmill owner in Red Lake Falls. Ideally, we need oak, pine, or cottonwood for rafters and flooring.

(3) Motion passed unanimously to purchase shingles from Melvin. Delivery should be early summer 2003.

(4) Genealogy of owners and history of the barn was discussed.

(5) Todd E. strongly suggested that the Society follow up on the situation with the deed. John will call MnDOT in Bemidji.

(6) Motion passed unanimously to write receipts for donated manure from Morken’s (31 truck loads at $100 each --- $3100) and clay from Keith Dale (4928 yards at the rate paid by the county or 25 cents per yard, whichever is greater)
