Sand Hill Settlement Historical Society --- MAY 28th MINUTES

Members present: John Vraa, Jane and Ervin Vigness, Todd Evenson, Bruce Larson and Terri Eidenschink.

Secretary's report was read. One change was made, Vicky Bogart will be receiving $200 plus mileage for her apron display for STS.

Todd gave the Treasure's report. There is $204.90 in our checking account. Checks for $1,000 to the Climax Golden Eagle boxing club and $56.62 to the CCC for roller-skates were given out.

OLD BUSINESS:

We received a "thank you" from the Hazel Scott family for the $25 memorial our group sent.

We went over finishing details for STS. Most of the set-up for STS was done this afternoon. The Sentenced to Serve people didn't show, but a few of our members worked very hard to get all the work done. Our sign was "touched-up" as well.

We estimate that Small Town Saturday '09 will come very close to costing us the $2,200 that the Climax Community Club donated to our group.

NEW BUSINESS:

We did some planning for some future plantings of heritage shrubs and trees at the cabin site. Also discussed working on the cabin roof and getting the windmill in place.

A work day has been scheduled for June 25th.

Hike/Bike/Run for STS was a success this year. We had 37 people register, but we figure that there were more people who participated since we handed out all 50 of our shirts.

JUNE MINUTES

The June 25th work day was held instead of our regular meeting. A July work day has been scheduled for the 22nd. Next meeting will be at the library July 23rd at 8:00.
